Request for Inclusion-Only Service Without Pre-Approval Shipment

It would be great if we have the option to request an inclusions only service without being directed to the shipping confirmation page. I’m aware that the shipping options and prices that appear on the page are only an estimate based on the current total weight of my items displayed in my mailbox, and not the final shipping total. However, I feel intimidated to choose a shipping method before knowing the actual weight of my items when I want to ship inclusions only. Since we do not have the option to change shipping services later after pre-approving a shipment, it’s impossible to compare prices between different shipping services as the weight is inaccurate. I want the ability to choose a shipping service that saves me the most when it comes to shipping album inclusions. The shipping calculator isn’t as useful since all fees are not incorporated and the estimated weight is still uncertain.

I also feel like the shipping process is very opaque , one has to confirm final shipping method without knowing the price , the price is in 99% of cases higher than the original supposed price , I cant thoroughly check the contents and their weight directly after consolidation and if you dont make express processing request they make you wait a week in total just so next time you pay for the express processing… Lately I found that some of the competitors who are offering proxy service ( not only virtual address ) are actually cheaper as Blackship when all things are considered , the way Blackship charge fees for literally every single thing is not right with me

That would be almost impossible, since the shipping fee is based on not only weight, but also by volume (size), whichever is higher. Something that is light-weight but large size will result in a higher shipping cost than something of the same weight but smaller.

Theresa Yeh: I believe it is possible. As a matter of fact, I am downsizing a larger package into a smaller one in both weight and volume. What I’m suggesting is to remove “pre-approving a shipment” during the consolidation process if asking for an inclusion request, since the only way to make such a request is if you go through shipping first. I mainly use BlackShip to purchase Kpop albums released in Japan, so I initially wanted to ask for an option that would allow me to ship only after a request like the above is completed in order to know the final size of my package. I was hoping that with this suggestion, a single weight and volume for the “inclusion-only” package (if consolidating) overwrites the multiple [to-be consolidated] ones that display the original weight/dimensions, recorded by BlackShip upon the package’s arrival. Hence, referencing off of the new package size during the shipping process would closely reflect the shipping rates of my final package as opposed to the measurements of the unconsolidated ones. Using the original packages’ measurements before consolidation makes the package seem heavier/bigger than it is when paying for shipping, which results in higher rates presented to you on screen that could’ve been a lot less and easily comparable. I’ve had one forwarded package gone from $200+ USD to $70 USD because I did inclusions only. In the end, you will never really know your shipping price until BlackShip charges you.
Furthermore, someone recommended “package consolidation without shipping,” and I guess, that’s what I’m encouraging here? Except, in the event that I only have 1 package to request for unboxing, the “consolidate without shipping” wouldn’t really apply here because you cannot consolidate 1 package so there would be no option to make a request. It would be highly preferable to allow an unboxing for inclusions without the obligation to pay for shipping until the request is done, so that we can note the size of the forwarding package, and better compare different shipping agencies and rates.
If this feedback isn’t something to consider, then it would be kindly appreciated if BlackShip could change the way a shipment must be pre-approved first before knowing the dimensions and weight of a package after consolidating. In other words, present us with the shipping details after a request or consolidation request; not at the same time when submitting a request.

Julie J: This, however, will result in more work for the staffs of Blackship and possible storage rearrangement. Which, I suspect, if they agree to consider there will be an added service fee.
