Keep a "read-only" copy of the customs declaration on the package page even after it was shipped / consolidated / splitted

Hi, I currently have a problem with a consolidation > splitting (which is being followed on by customer service) that led me to discover the joys of customs declaration migration.
Right now, as soon as a package is set for consolidation / splitting, the customs declaration is entirely migrated to the new consolidated / splitted package(s), leaving the customs section empty on the original individual package's page.
This is an issue because
when
a problem arises, there is no customs data left for the customer to rely on. So I propose that when a package is taken further along the shipping chain, the customs data is
duplicated
instead of simply transferred
, and is left as non-editable data on the original individual package's page. I'll learn from this mess-up and save screenshots of the pages for all my packages moving forward, but I just wish that, you know, I didn't
have
to do that. Anyway, have a nice day !
